For your
EVENT moderation

Ferry van Saalbach

Your moderator for sophisticated event moderation in the technology sector

Moderating an event always brings its very own challenges. That's why it's important that the moderator has thought through the event properly in advance.

My many years of experience help me to look at your event not only from the perspective of a presenter, but also through the eyes of a salesperson, a former manager, a scientist and, of course, always from the perspective of your audience.

Of course, I also have a checklist that I use to clarify all relevant questions in advance of your event. This allows me to maintain an overview on stage and, as a moderator, provide your audience with orientation.

A portrait by Volker Tauer from Silicon Saxony

This is the second time that Ferry has moderated our annual Silicon Saxony Day in English. It is remarkable how well and attentively he thinks along - not only in advance, but also on stage. You can simply rely on this man all round!

What makes my EVENT moderation special

As a professional event moderator, I always have the technology under control and an overview of the process, which gives me the experience, confidence and, ultimately, the relaxed attitude that will make your event a success.

1

Step 1: Discuss procedure

You know exactly what should happen when, where which room is and when which speaker will say what - as your event moderator, I also need to know exactly that. Because on stage, the audience expects the moderator of your event to provide orientation and structure. To do this, they need to know how your event is planned.

Step 2: Check technology - with buffer

The first appearance of a good event presenter usually takes place when there is no audience yet. So that he can check whether the microphone works as it should, what the presenter can and must see from the stage, how the whole thing feels and looks from there - and above all, what the plan B is in case something unexpected should happen during your event.

Step 3: Stay relaxed

If the presenter and event crew can rely on each other and the technology and process, everyone has a stable foundation. As a result, no one is rattled if something doesn't go as planned. And then it's all about staying relaxed, calmly looking for solutions and using humor and charm to get through any imponderables. After all, that's why you've booked a professional.

Frequently asked questions about EVENT moderation

What makes a good event moderator?

A good event presenter thinks through what they are going to do on stage in advance and always conveys a sense of orientation, structure and security. A pinch of humor and dynamism certainly doesn't hurt.

The main task of an event presenter is to provide orientation about the event: on the one hand, through a well thought-out tour during the event that is tailored to the program and, on the other hand, through spontaneous hints that help the audience to find their way around.

The function of an event moderator is to provide a framework for the event. In doing so, they should ensure that they use the client's values and words in such a way that they reflect their brand at every moment and convey the feeling of belonging to the company.
