The online moderation of events brings its very own challenges, as the moderator's task here is not only to lead through an event, but usually also to cover and integrate a technical part.
In recent years, I have acquired a green screen studio with the appropriate technology to help me present online events with ease and confidence.
I can rely on this foundation and on my experience. This in turn gives me the confidence to lead the event calmly and to handle technical setbacks in the audience or with the speakers with ease.
With Ferry as a moderator, our webinars take on a whole new quality. I would never have thought beforehand that a moderator could make such an enormous difference to a webinar.

As a professional online moderator, I always have the technology under control and an overview of the process, which gives me the experience, confidence and, ultimately, the relaxed attitude that will make your online event a success.

In order to identify and address potential risks in advance, a technical check should always be carried out before the event. Because no two events are the same: some customers use specific software, some speakers have a system or component that has never worked with it before - only realizing this at the event creates unnecessary nervousness.
As a good online presenter, you should run through every event at least once in your head beforehand: When is which speaker's turn? When does a break make sense? When do breakout sessions take place and what else needs to be considered? Once this has been thought through in advance, the moderator will appear confident and can give the audience the necessary orientation.

If you can rely on technology and processes, you have a stable foundation and won't be rattled if something doesn't go as planned. And then it's all about staying relaxed, calmly looking for solutions and using humor and charm to guide you through any imponderables. After all, that's why you've booked a professional.
A good online presenter understands how the interplay of technology and dramaturgy works. This is because moderating online events involves different situations than on stage or in a TV studio. That's why a good presenter of online events thinks about how to use the technical possibilities to their advantage.
A green screen is not essential for the moderation of online events, but it is helpful in many cases. For example, any background of a client can be used on a (professionally lit) green screen to reinforce the brand message. Additional information or entire presentations can also be integrated live. Whether green screen or not, a good online presenter should definitely have thought about the background.
A good microphone and a good camera are of course essential for moderating online events. Depending on how professional the image is to appear, ring lights or softboxes are also suitable for harmonious lighting. However, the most important thing is that the online presenter checks the technology in advance with the client's software to be used so that everyone can be sure that all components work together as they should.
